We are a father-and-son building team based in Thorpe-le-Soken and Maidstone. We visit the property and prepare the quotation, then stay involved during the work.

Ron Ramsell
Ron is a time-served sheet metal worker and welder. He began his career at North Kent Engineering in 1978 and holds City & Guilds qualifications (C&G 200 and C&G 165 Parts 1–3). He has more than 40 years of experience in heavy industry, managing complex refractory turnarounds in the petrochemical industry, leading teams of up to 110 people and completing projects in more than 20 countries. He founded Refractory Consultancy Services Limited (RCSL), the company Ramsell Construction trades under.
That background shapes how we measure, plan and sequence building work. We are not architects. We are engineers with experience of precision work in heavy industry, and we have produced and worked from our own drawings for many years. Drawings and design previews.

Andrew Ramsell
Andrew works alongside his father, Ron, and looks after the planning, pricing and day-to-day running of each job. He is an AAT Level 4 qualified accountant who specialises in streamlining the whole process, from commercials through to the planning of works. Since 2018 he has worked at Refractory Consultancy Services on refinery shutdowns and industrial projects in the UK, Italy and Russia, where he has built expertise in refractory processes, design and materials and a proven record of leading projects, coordinating welding teams, preparing method statements and writing inspection reports. He works in Fusion 360 CAD and keeps quotes, schedules and budgets clear, so you always know where your project stands.

We set out the work and price in writing. Any drawings or specialist input needed before building are identified at this stage.

We carry out the agreed work and discuss any proposed changes with you.

We walk through the completed work with you and check the finish.
